"Accessories From Italy"

“Accessories From Italy”
6 x 6in oil on museum quality panel

I have a friend named Jeffrey .  Jeffrey makes jewelry.  He tells me the only thing that separates me from the *animals (see Eddie) is my ability to accessorize.

Which I used to believe ’til I saw Eddie wearing my beaded scarf.  So much for that theory!

However, when it comes to the Italians–they do know how to accessorize.  Color around a window doesn’t just have to come in the form of flowers.  It can be fresh laundry, full of color, softly stirring in the breeze.

Now that’s something you don’t see on HGTV…who knew you could get fashion tips for yourself, your house,  and take a mini trip to Italy all at the same time….
And just so you know that I always tell the truth– here’s Eddie with my scarf. Haven’t worn it since then. I hate it when someone looks better in my clothes than I do…..

Note: It was a great show on Artists Helping Artists with Carol Marine, the premiere daily painter.  If you missed it, just remember , they are recorded!  Just click here then scroll down to On Demand Episodes.  Click play and enjoy~

Only you can make laundry hanging look beautiful..love the fringed scarf…It reminds me of days gone by..the only diff is the fact that I hated it back then..LOL..because in the winter they smelled liked soot from the fireplace..I would love to go back to those days..although not in France or Paris..you bring wonderful memories to mind..I love the laundry painting and proud to say I own one..AWESOMEReplyCancel

Yes another fabulous piece of Italy here! Is that a white silk/cashmere pashmina I see hanging on the line? Was it just spot cleaned to get the lil’ drop of red wine that splashed on it from the night before?ReplyCancel

The splashes of color and the framing of the window with color are just wonderful. Love it!ReplyCancel

Eddie was born to wear that scarf; you can’t fight destiny!

I love all the little bits of color packed into this scene of everyday life.ReplyCancel

You do make laundry look so beautiful. I remember my mom hanging laundry from the line – but it always seemed to be underwear and socks that I saw from the school bus window and I was so embarrassed. Can you paint a picture of that? LOLReplyCancel
