Color Your Day With Happiness
Mondays and music can both be blue.
While lavender can be both scented and viewed.
Greens can be envious and yellows afraid
Oranges eaten and reds….
well, I know for a fact that artist Wolf Kahn named a painting “Ode to Perylene Red” after a new red paint he had fallen in love with.
I, of course, upon hearing this, promptly ordered my own tube. (I think I still have it somewhere, tumbled down into a zillion other colors that I just had to try on, like a new set of clothes.)
Why?? Because color is magic. Our senses are so in tune with it….don’t believe me? Just try this little test I saw.
Say the correct color of the word out loud.

All colours resonate with me in one way or another, as I’m sure it’s that same way with all of us, but for me, I’m happiest when I’m anywhere near or see shades of purples and shades of blues.
Periwinkle is way up there as a definite favourite, as is iris, lavender, orchid and lilac, but then there’s also majorelle blue and azure. And then there’s a recent happy colour I found – a mixture of purples and blues, called electric indigo.
In honour of today being an exceptionally happy and very special day in my life (marking ten years of being pain-free and alive and well), I’m wearing varyious shades of those colours, in all their glorious degrees, subtleties and vibrancy.

Dreama’s paintings all taste “happy” – a master of color and a joy to swim around in. Strokes of genius!!
I love yellow roses with red tips, a deep turquoise sky, a magenta ski jacket, that golden green of water near the coast and whatever color snow is…love the quotes! love the painting…and your blues.
I do believe “perry-winkle blue” is the most happiest of colors, and my kitty Fiona has that exact color, but second happiest of colors for me is “rosebud pink”. Don’t know the paint tube color for it or even your color Dreama.

I love almost all colors but have had a love affair with periwinkle blue since my childhood. I love blues the most.
I seem to be gravitating to shades of orange lately. Maybe because I so love reds and yellows. The thread between all three colors for me is vibrancy. They seem to have a life force of their own, and create a little joy in each painting.

Besides the “perry” in periwinkle, I really think you you like the ” wink”! That’s one of my favorite colors too!
My happy color is cadmium red light, made by Liquitex acrylics. And I also like their cadmium orange. Those two colors can take me anywhere I want to go, either used alone, or mixed with other colors.
My favorite color is the glistening turquoise of the Caribbean waters basked in the brilliant gold sunlight.
Right now I am blessed drinking in both as I gaze out my veranda sipping coffee. It is 80 degrees here and 5 degrees at home. Somehow I am truly blessed.
Yellow is my happy color. Actually, red is also my happy color. And blue – the blue that you see in Dreama paintings. Bright orange is also a happy color for me. And pink – not the pastellie little-girl-pink, bold pink. I think that about covers it.

I wrote about “Signature Colour” in a blog at the beginning of February – http://paintamasterpiece.blogspot.fr/2013/02/signature-style-signature-colour.html We share the same love of Periwinkle as you see from my comments. Small world isn’t it? I will be writing more about individual colours in the coming weeks.
It’s certainly true that some Artists really know how to make a particular shade sing and others just can’t get along with it. There is also a big difference between Acrylic, Oil and Watercolour even if the tube says it’s the same colour.

I just came back from the hardwarestore with a varnish and taint of my favourite colour: see-green/blueish, to varnish-paint an old plywood sideboard(kind of cupboard with glasspanels in front. It was supposed to be wooden-colour, but I just thought: what de heck! It’s gonna be beautiful and I need/love colour to marvell my eyes om! Your wtitings/colours/thoughts is just… well, I want to eat it! God’s most colourfull blessings for you and your family!
