Love & Color In My Hometown — Paris, KY

“It’s a Happy Kind of Thing”
9 x 12in oil on museum quality panel

You know what I’m talkin’ about.  Those things that are difficult to find the words for, but for whatever reason just make our hearts warm and bring a smile to our face.  It’s a happy kind of thing!

And we now interrupt the BEST OF DREAMA posting schedule for hometown workshop highlights…

It’s a happy kind of thing.
What it is that we do.
(Please smile while reading this, it will make your whole body feel better—try it and see!)

Our feet hit the floor (amazing)
Hot coffee at the push of  a button (yum!)
And our days are off and running.
Days are chock full of moments.  In my case it might be a snuggle with Eddie, a funny message from my sis, good news about a friend, or teaching a workshop.

I never knew when I started teaching how rich the experience would become.  I am often humbled and honored by the people I meet.  Talented, generous in spirit, givers, caretakers, the list is endless.  Sometimes I over hear them saying after I leave their painting, “Oh Dreama always has something nice to say”.

I am not sure if they are believers or doubters as to what I’ve said about their work 🙂 —however I KNOW that one of the wonderful things in life for me is this….I feel like the gift to see beauty in everything is alive and well.  It is not feigned on my part.  Each painting has the spirit of that person in it—and it is beautiful!  I love noticing the nuances and things to fall in love with on each piece.

I don’t wish to change them or their work—I desire to help them to move deeper into revealing in their work the joyous being that is THEM.

And that is why I teach.

I have a couple more workshops starting in August and of course I am now eyeballs deep in the BIG PROJECT.  I am elated that you have stayed with me, sent encouraging letters, and left comments to cheer me on.  My biggest concern was to make sure I did my best on what I am working on AND that I honored my friendship with you in my postings here.  You have helped make that work and I am so grateful!

Here are oodles of smiling faces AND color filled paintings from my Paris workshops—it’s a HAPPY KIND OF THING!

Eddie and I intend to “let the cat out of the bag” on the BIG PROJECT come September.
Stay tunaed.
(Sorry, this is what happens when you let a cat help write your blog posts.  Puns, really BAD puns.)

Did you keep smiling and did you notice the difference in how you felt?  AMAZING!

P.S.  My California workshops have some openings–you can get the info here!

P.S.S. The BEST OF DREAMA posting schedule will resume until we “let the cat out of the bag” ?
