During the Creative Process

"Spring Delicacy"

Carmel is one fun place.

Did you know it was voted the #1 place in America to live in 2012 by CNN’s Money Magazine??? Me neither!

I’m not talking about Carmel, CA—the place most artists know so well and that sits by the sea.
We’re talkin’  Carmel, Indiana….specifically the Arts District, home to my two last workshops:))!

First off all, it has amazing food! ( Think tortellini soup, brie log covered in strawberries, and macaroni and cheese with shrimp:)))(I know…I had to wipe the drool off my chin too;)

Secondly…it has fun places to shop.   Both Eds gave a  “thumbs up” to my new studio chair:)) (purchased at Restyled, a little shop right next door to where I was teaching).

My hostess for the two Carmel workshops was Kathleen O’Neil Stevens.

From stealin’ groceries….

to stealin’ kisses….

She was NOT a very good influence;))

However…she IS an excellent workshop coordinator!  She kept us in coffee, teas and goodies…took lots of pics….and tipped us off on all the good places to eat:))

Which obviously paid off….just look at all the juicy colors in these paintings:))  It was a very talented group of artists!

This was the workshop for friends and family!

There were sisters, mother and daughters, husband and wife, and a 5 pack of friends from Michigan (and a whole lot more)!

Lots of Art = Lots of Smiles:))!

The Gang’s All Here!

Kathleen (our host), Karen, Chelsea, Bonnie and Bob, Vicki, Linda, Korrine, Susan, Linda, Sue, Nancy, Janet, Debbie, Marc, Heather, Trudy, Jamilyn, Marianne, and Barb.

Workshop I in Carmel, Indiana was a delight in every way!!

ps – Oh! And I forgot to mention how beautiful your ‘Spring Delicacy’ painting is. Those colours just make my eyes light up, the corners of my mouth turn up into a big smile, and just make my day that much brighter. In a word? Beautiful.

Fantastically fun photos! I literally had a ‘double take’ moment (or two) at first glance. I love your expressions – both yours and Kathleen’s. Great stuff!
You all look like you’ve had such a great and fun time. The paintings, as well as the artists who created them, all look fab, as well. Yes – juicy and luscious colours in abundance. Happiness and fun is everywhere in these photos.
I love that photo of your new chair with Big Ed and Little Ed (who’s no longer so little!).
    Well done, everyone!

Little Eddie is all grown up! I can’t tell which one is which! I have to assume that Sir Ed is the one in the chair, with little Ed down on the floor!

Here is the gang at the recent Artist Dreama Tolle Perry workshop in Carmel Indiana.

It was a great 3 days and I learned more about working with transparent colors. I appreciate Dreama’s teaching style of a short demo, the students go work, then another short lesson, etc. It’s all broken down into short sessions for my little short term memory. I’ve already sold one of my “Dreama Paintings”.

  10. Love those tulips in those wonderful colors!!! Looks like spring time!
