Step Inside

Inviting, eh?
A bramble of roses cascading outward,
turquoise gate ajar just enough to allow entry,
sunshine heating up slabs of stone.

A special place for you.

A respite from the day, from weariness, from sorrows.

Step inside
For inside you gather yourself
You rest
And Love will light your path as surely as the sun lights the earth.

Step inside:)

Bliss is….  Eddie hanging tight in my new studio chair, supervising the entire painting, with Pandora radio playing the “Spa” station:)

In Other News:
On occasion, I come across special things that I realize I should share with you—how else you gonna find out about ’em:)??

Sabbath Song Farm, which I have painted the skies and cats of, is one of my favorite places to go.  It’s a B & B so far out in the country you think you will never arrive, but when you do make that last turn onto Toadvine Road, you can feel the dust of fast paced  life start washing away and you are SO glad you made the trek:))  My friend, Carolyn Boatman,  hosts women retreats, soul sojourns, pie-baking days, and for those of you who love scrap-booking, her Sabbath Song Farm is the best kept secret place to meet up with your friends for the day!  Her place sits between Lexington, Ky and Cincinnati, OH near Brooksville, KY and you can check it out by clicking here.

The other gal is one of whom is a great writer and a deep thinker, friend and life coach Erika Isler.  She has a program this spring that I was want to take but alas….it tripped over one of my own workshops, so I’ll have to save it for a later date:)  It is on finding your authentic voice in writing (which I think applies to everything we do)….and it’s done using horses….kind of like the horse whisperer thing:)) It looks wonderful!    You can check it out by clicking here.

Last but not least….my March Letter is coming this Saturday—make sure you’re subscribed…gonna have some good stuff in it for you:))!

I really, really needed to see this painting today, Dreama. It’s been one of those days where I literally would’ve loved to ‘step inside’ and just forget the blues, the sorrow, the sadness that I’m feeling. I need to ‘step inside’ this beautiful place you’ve painted and be transported to how this painting makes me feel when I look at it, and imagine that I’m there.
Thanks, too, for the info about Sabbath Song Farm. If I still lived in the US, I’d either hop in my car or I’d take the first train or bus out there to Carolyn’s place. Today. Now. I need a retreat, badly, as well as a soul sojourn. Maybe one day…just wish that day were today…
Forgive the somber tone and negative vibes coming from me today. I guess it’s all part of the journey…the peaks and valleys, the ebbs and flows…the highs and lows.
Thanks for cheering me up and taking me away, at least for as long as I transport myself there, and inviting me to ‘step inside’ this beautiful, peaceful and joyful place you’ve painted.

Beautiful composition, colors, feel, and brushwork, along with beautiful words. What a combination!

  5. Bruce Bingham

Your paintings are made more alive by your writing, if that’s possible, amist all that vibrant wonderful color! Thanks for sharing the great links too. I feel like I’ve been to a spa by just visiting them:)

  6. Kim Ritter Gignac

  7. Beautiful, inspiring, full of sunshine. What a wonderful way to start a Monday morning! Thank you for the beauty!
