I often think about places of beauty and those who keep them.

This little spot is on Susie and Ian Dick’s lavender farm in a small village in the south of France.

Gratitude comes to mind when I see these things.  Someone tends them year round, pulls weeds, repots and repaints, coaxing reluctant plants to grow and pruning those boisterous types who would take over the place.  It takes a deep love, a living passion– to keep these things going.

For that one day or one hour that someone like you or I get to drink in the delicious smells and let our hands trail over time worn stones we give so many thanks to those who are….the Keepers of  Beauty 🙂

My sister Rhonda tends her voice, exercising it each day so that when, for those moments that others get the delight of hearing her, it is ready and waiting.

My mother-in-laws Ann and Jewel (both such women of spirit, beautiful inside and out) kept the beauty of a bountiful table that was always spread with love and awesome food.

Chris Bart, a now long time artist friend, is a keeper of the beauty of friendship—taking time for people and making them feel as special as they truly are.

I am betting that you too hold a place of beauty for others to enjoy.  Look around yourself and see what you are lovingly tending too, holding that space for others so that when life is a bit to hectic or unsure—they can “swing by your place” and dally in the place of beauty that you are keeping.

Kind of makes the heart swell up when looking at all the beauty there is in this world.  And there you are, right smack dab in the middle of it all AND tending your own special patch to bless others with.

This post is dedicated to the Keepers of Beauty–one and all—wealthy in the things that matter most, wading deep into the delicate fragrance of life.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

P.S. There are a couple of spots open in my July workshop right here in my hometown of Paris…Kentucky
