"The Color of Joy" SOLD

“The Color of Joy”
12 x 12in oil on museum quality panel

Joy comes to us in many forms.
On this particular day it showed up wearing RED:))
If you are not convinced that color equals JOY
Just have a gander in black and white;)

That’s what I’m talkin’ about:))
Of course, Eddie says he would be the exception to that rule…..
but then he also suggested that the Lexington Workshop had gone to the dogs when he saw the picture below…
After a busy day painting, it was a real treat to kick back at Brenda Pettit’s home and enjoy good wine, art…and Winston!!
The second day’s paintings–pretty pieces all in a row!!

Musical easels–40 minutes, 14 paintings, colorful fun:))!

Brenda, Mary, Eileen, Becky, Sandra, Pris, Brenda, Mary, Marti, Pat, Julia, Marilyn, Wanda, and Faye!
One colorful bunch of talent;)
One amazing group of artists exercising their skills
(and no girls, I am NOT referring to the elevator incident;)))
It was
Just a plain  good time:)!!
Thanks to each of you who helped make it so:))

I know that most people who visit places like Italy and France wax lyrical about the architecture and the history. Which is fair enough, and I agree….to a point.

But for me, when we were there (too many years ago now), along with the history and the amazing architecture, it was the culture, the people, the shops (and the shop displays – I remember some amazing ones in Venice), the bistros and the tratattorias, and of course, the cafes. The beautiful, wonderful cafes.

Yes, this street scene and this shop and this entire beautiful composition is, for me, definitely some of the true colours of joy. Joy of life. Joy of living. Joie d’vivre.

Thanks for sharing this beautiful painting with us, Dreama.

And thanks, too, for sharing more photos of the latest colours of joy that were clearly expressed in the paintings at the workshop. Each time you put photos up of the workshops, I transport myself there – everyone looks so happy, so content, having so much fun and truly filled with joy at being there.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go back to the painting now, where it will take me back to that street, and I’ll have a little peek in that shop window and see what’s on offer.ReplyCancel
