Tuscan Gold

Oil Painting of Cafe in Cortona, Italy

“Tuscan Gold”
12 x 12in oil on museum quality panel

Art and Life.  Life and Art.
What is true and applicable for the one so often fits the other just right.
One of the artists (thank you Lee) in my workshop in Cary, NC shared this quote from Monet:

“Everyone discusses my art and pretends to understand,
as if it were necessary to understand,
when it is simply

necessary to love.”

~Claude Monet

So many things in life that I may not understand….how much does it  really matter?

Maybe the bigger picture is simply to LOVE  🙂

It seems impossible.  My favorite color, flowers, cupcakes, and bath time ALL in one thing???

But here it is!
My hostess for the Cary, NC workshops, Lynda Chambers came up with this idea and had it crafted into a giant bath salt…with my name on it…literally 😉

And then she had lots of little ones made to give out to each artist in the workshop 😉

Since they weren’t  edible….she served up some chocolate goodness… 🙂

Lynda is an awesome artist, writer, workshop host, friend, AND  chef.

And in case you were wondering why I traipise  all over teaching workshops…
How ELSE would I end up with a purple/pansy wearing/confectionary bath time treat with my name on it????

Exactly 😉

Even better, I get to meet amazing artists and share their beautiful work with you!

Now you get to see what I see when I walk around from easel to easel….

Wonderful paintings in progress and

Lots of creative energy all in one place!

I am one lucky dog cat!!

Cathy, Jo, Carol, Kathleen, Mary, Tamara, Jane, Carol, Beth, Lee, Annell, Cindy, Karen, Wendy, Sarah, Penny, Catherine, and Jenny!

A big thanks to this awesome group of artists— (and for you guys who are wondering—one man can hold his own with a workshop full of women as proved in this session by Lee Meadows 😉 !!

I just love the look on your face as you’re stealing a taste of that cupcake! Quite the look from Lynda, too!!!!! Hey, have the calendars gone out yet? Did my order come through? I can’t find a confirmation on it and I definitely don’t want to miss out on a year of Dreama! I hope I didn’t flub up my order 🙂ReplyCancel

Another fun-lovin’, food-lovin’, art-lovin’ awesome workshop! Look at all those shiny happy faces! Those shiny happy paintings! And those shiny happy purple Dreama cupcake bath treats! Makes me happy just seeing all the happiness (and fun…and food…and joy…and beautiful art) that’s to be found at a Dreama workshop.

One of those two Tuscan tables is calling to me…since I can’t hop on the next flight out to Italy, the next best thing is to paint myself there, with the help of the very lovely and very inviting ‘Tuscan Gold.’ Thanks for sharing all that love and happiness with us. 🙂ReplyCancel

    Gorgeous painting!

I can’t describe completely in words how much fun I had at the workshop in Cary. It was a joy! I learned so much in the workshop, and it has certainly improved my painting. It was a delight to be among beautiful, cheerful, and a creative group of students!

I want to thank Lynda and Judy for all the delicious food and warm welcoming…

And thank you Dreama, for all your hard work in putting together a wonderful and unforgettable class… Bravo!

Wow! What a remarkable and joyful experience….
