A Day in Paris, KY-- Artist Dreama Tolle Perry Workshops

There are a couple of nice B & B’s in the area (The Treehouse and the Guesthouse at Rosecrest Farm). We also now have a vacation rental in our hometown of Paris.  It’s a great home away from home. The Ramada is “on the way”, which means just off I-75 and only about 12 minutes from the workshop driving through gorgeous horse country. Even if you stay in downtown Lexington, Ky you are only about 20 minutes away from Paris (four lanes going right through the heart of some amazing horse farms). So feel free to look online as to the accommodations you feel best suit your taste and budget.

Hi Dreama. First, I love your name as well as your art. The colors are magic !!
Second, I am wondering if you categorize your workshops as to level. I see myself as beginner but want to go for it. Do you think your workshops are geared to more advanced students?
    Thank you.

Lonnie–Thanks for the kind words 🙂 I have all levels in my workshops—here’s some info from my site on that:
      2. What skill level do I need to take a workshop with Dreama?

I have artists of all levels, including those who have not worked in oils before and some who haven’t been painting long —all the way up to seasoned, paint everyday kind of people. Each workshop is always a mix.

As one student describes my workshops:

“Dreama’s teaching style is geared for student success. I’ve taken many workshops and her method is a super way for students to learn how she uses the transparent oil colors. Dreama will talk and demo in broken segments of study and it gives us plenty of time to go back to our easels and paint, then regroup for the next session. She continues breaking down this process into easy to grasp portions until by the end of the day each student has a very nice painting.”

Since you have a go for it attitude, I think you’ll be fine. I do my painting in sections and give you time to do that portion at your easel—I have found that when folks (including me) can put something into action pretty close to having seen it, that they retain the info much better and have much greater success.ReplyCancel
