I love to teach.Helping another person to have that ”aha" moment, inspiring them to do their work on a regular basis after the workshop ends.....those are absolutely priceless things!Doing art, making art, comprises so many facets.Do we want to paint still life or intimate landscape?Depending on which, how do we start, how do we keep colors lively, how do we use our brush as an extension of us?And then, after we have been painting awhile, the other questions that begin to surface.....how to stay excited, how to grow in our work, how to photograph your work, what about a website. ....lots of things to look at!

About the workshop:
Painting flowers provides the perfect excuse for playing with lots of delightful color!In this workshop we will work on the use of color in your painting--mixing it, working with transparent colors to give your paintings that glow and how to achieve great brush work.There will be multiple still life set-ups to work from, demos and exercises and one on one easel work with each participant.This workshop is open for all levels.
3-Day Oil Painting Workshop/ “The Intimate Landscape”
Kick up your outdoor paintings a notch.Working from photos that I supply, you will combine transparent oils, toned canvases and carefree brushwork to make outdoor scenes vibrate with the color of life.Bring your playfulness and sense of adventure to paint the things that areoften just outside our door----gardens, forgotten corners warmed by sunshine and ivy, Spanish missions with red tile roofs---scenes examined from an intimate vantage point.I will be doing demos and then working with each artist at their easel.This workshop was put togetherbecause of the demand for it, so if you think you want to take it, I encourage you to get your deposit in ASAP.It‘s gonna be fun!

Like how to photograph your work, do I need a website, what in the heck is a blog and do I need one, what about framing, how to do a newsletter and why, along with what I call the heart stuff---listening to yourself to lead your artistic life the way that is a fit for you.I am particularly excited to offer this one day workshop.It is going to cover some of the things on the business side of art that just can't be covered in a regular painting workshop.I am going to open it up for questions to be sent in ahead of time to be addressed the day of the workshop.We will uncover a wealth of good material.You will not want to miss this!

--Ahhh...the magic that is the Country Lodge of Sabbath Song Farm.We are going to arrive there at the peak of spring...Sabbath Song.It is such a slice of pureheaven, it is difficult to capture in words.With the lodge being deep in the country, our host and fellow artist, Carolyn Boatman, will be preparing all our meals for us --- all country fresh and home cooked .My intention for this retreat is to mingle nature, women, art, good conversation, painting, and so much more to help you tap into all of your power as an artist and women of worth!This is your time to immerse yourself in a retreat designed specifically for you--the artistic soul.
The Country Lodge is a converted barn made up of 3 levels.Studio space below, one king suite, one queen suite, 2 shared bathrooms, along with the open kitchen/dining area occupies the mid level, and the upstairs area sleeps 8 people, twin bed style. The cost covers the Country lodge 3 night stay, 2 dinners, 2 breakfast, one farewell brunch, 2 lunches, Friday nights campfire cookout including the horse drawn wagon ride, cold bottled water and tea and snacks throughout the day.
