A Few of My Favorite Things Giveaway/ CAUTION: Wet Paint!

I deliberately planned for A Few of My Favorite Things Giveaway to end a few days into January….and the drawings for the winners to be picked even later than that.
One must have something that is a bit happy-go-lucky to get through what can be very gray January days.  (I don’t do well in winter as evidenced in a post from 2011– click here to see the insanity… 😉 )

After deconstructing my house for the holidays (loads of crap out, loads of crap back in…hey…it came OUT how come it won’t fit back IN????) I am now packing for 3 workshops and 30 days away from home.
Which means I got a very strange look at the checkout at Walmart for the cart load of cat food, cat treats, kitty litter and the usual “guilt that I am leaving” toys for the Eds.

But I am not complaining.  I am headed for warmer climes, sunshine and surf so it will be almost, ALMOST worth whatever grief Eddie Bill gives me for leaving him as he puts it…“High and dry in this god-forsaken frozen tundra.”

It’s Ed.
He’s a dramatist if nothing else 😉

Next time you hear from me I will be in Florida.
Next time you hear from Ed he will be annoyed that he’s not in Florida.
If you’d like to know WHY he’s not allowed on the beach just click here.

I figure it’s appropriate that since I am going to be on the road again, that the last giveaway be something that you can pack your own pretty paintings in when it comes to traveling.
It’s a wet panel carrier made by the good folks (hi Cathy!) at Raymarart.com.  I own several and never leave home without them 🙂

We already have winners on a couple of the giveaways.  You can go to these blog posts to check them out! Just click here and here.

Dreama, this is a perfect gift to anyone who has tried to drive a car with a wet painting in the trunk. Sliding around trying it’s best not to create another painting in the trunk without my permission! I guess I could really use a wet painting carrier. Or has Eddie found the other set of keys to my trunk just so he could paint a painting? I wonder?ReplyCancel

  • Carol Hopper - January 4, 2014 - 1:53 pm

The quote touched me today as a “big” job, not a “little” job. Why? Because I just had two weeks of overseas travel with a teenage grandson who at times made my life and travel miserable. So now, how, dear Dreama, do I move past this? Can I just be on the list of “Making Somebody’s Day” and give myself support for endurance?ReplyCancel

  • Annette - January 4, 2014 - 10:32 am

While thinking of warm Florida as a way to escape the 11 degree weather and SNOW gripping New York City, I decided to think of the snow as a beautiful gift from above. There is magic in the way…… sunlight sparkles on the snow, purple shadow patterns are created by foliage and structures, songbirds search for food on the frozen snow. I could go on and on. All are paintings waiting to happen and I can’t wait to get started. Who says you can’t make do! Thanks, Dreama for your inspiration.ReplyCancel

I usually carry my wet canvas in a kiddie picnic basket that has a 2-piece lid, one acts as a tray for my wet canvas and the two handles on the basket keep me from tipping it over. Works well for me. As usual, your paintings with their unique style, subject matter, colors, always keep me coming back for one more look. Thank you.ReplyCancel

This is a new me or maybe a me I never knew existed. Having been in business for along time and now retired I have discovered all sorts of stuff I either thought unimportant or time wasted ( unproductive )!!!!
Art was important in my youth, and oh joys I am back into it, it’s just great. On a more sensible note all my life has been involved in art, I started out on the fashion world, then interiors, and lastly real estate all of which an eye for every detail dealing with style, shapes , color and design was vital, so maybe life is not so strange, just exciting. I am looking forward to my first course with Dreamer and my first foray into oils.

( this really should be edited) !,ReplyCancel
