A Few of My Favorite Things Giveaway/ To A Twinkling New Year!!

 2014

A magical new year is beginning.
(If you missed my wishes for you, you can click here to see them 🙂 )

I personally love the ending and beginning of years.  It’s the great PAUSE button of life.  The moment between what was and what is to come.  One can never be here, in this moment, without looking both forward and backwards.  It prompts us to look around to see where we’ve been and where we’d like to go next.  Both literally and figuratively.

I am heading to Marco Island, Florida in a few days to teach.  That’s what I am literally doing 🙂

In my mind I will use both January and February to do my soul work.  Happy with where I have been, it’s time to take a deep look at what’s next.

I know you must be feeling the  “it’s a new year/ times a wastin’/ life isn’t a dress rehearsal” stirrings within as well.

I love this quote from Andrea Balt:

“What do you want to accomplish? And most importantly, why — what’s your motivation? Be unrealistic. Life itself is unrealistic. Your very existence is as random, impossible and unrealistic as it gets. “

“Only unrealistic people accomplish extraordinary things.”

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”  ~Mark Twain

Here’s to an Awesome 2014 chucked full of Dreamers, Explorers and Unrealistic Peeps 😉

If you love twinkle and you love color then you will love my next fun thing on A Few of My Favorite Things Giveaway.   Dreamingcolor.com has these little pots of JOY called Twinkling H2O’s.  I use them (along with my regular watercolors) to journal with. You can get your name in for a chance to your own set of  by entering below.

One last fun giveaways coming your way later this week— my favorite wet painting carrier!!

My totally unrealistic dream is to find TIME to do all the
art projects I have in my head. Also to go back to Italy and spend more time in one place rather than to feel the need to go
everywhere in a short time. Also for those who are suffering
mentally & physically to heal, enjoy the here and now.ReplyCancel

  • Nancy Piros - January 3, 2014 - 6:24 pm

Hi Dreama, my unrealistic goal would have to be— to design my own house for me and my husband. With my own art room in it. A room that I can have with my artist easel and potters wheel and kiln. An area with room for my sewing machine. A spot to sit and do my crochet work and a area s for making jewelry. I would like it to have an area on each wall for large windows to be able to be one with nature. I love the inspiration of outdoors. I guess my inspiration for this comes from High School Art Classes. I loved the energy I would feel entering the room . That’s it Dreama Hugs Hugs B

Unrealistic as it may well be, given my financial state these days, my dream remains just as fervent and passionate as it was the first time I came across your art. I want so much to go to one of your workshops – France, Italy (oohhhhh…esecially Italy!) or anywhere in the US, as everywhere you go, and no matter where your workshops are, you are there, bringing and giving so much joy, so much inspiration, to so many people.

Slightly less unrealistic, though, is to find and/or make time – no matter what the day holds – to paint. Not just my crafts type of painting (which I love), but to get back to my first love, which is watercolours…and still life compositions.

Happy, happy new year, Dreama! And thanks for yet another amazing and generous giveaway.ReplyCancel

Paint, paint, paint! Give up my day job and work on my painting. I once had a job where I had to do pen and ink drawings for clothing advertisements every day. It was the best thing for my art. I want to get back to that kind of commitment. Looking forward to workshop on Marco!

  • Verna - January 1, 2014 - 2:51 pm

Last year I was on Pinterest and came across your paintings. I loved them immediately, so I did a little research. The minute I saw your name I was intrigued. You see when I was in high school I knew a girl named Dreama Tolar. I thought you might be her or a daughter. When I saw your picture of course I saw that you were too young to be my school friend. I graduated in 1960. I have never, until now known another Dreama.
I do paint and I truly love your work and especially your outlook on life. Your humor and joyful attitude are contagious. I have always been a shy invert. Always concerned about what others think. Especially of my paintings. You inspire me to paint more to please myself.
Well I want to thank you for being so genuine.
    Sincerely, Verna HallReplyCancel
