"Celebrate You!!" SOLD

“Celebrate You!”
8 x 8in oil on museum quality panel

One of the best pieces of advice I ever received was the admonition to never wait for someone else to decide what would make my birthday special.  They said I should take some thought and decide for myself how to celebrate it.

I remembered their words and that particular year I had myself a cake made that simply said….

Happy Birthday to Wonderful Me!

Now admittedly, I got some strange looks from the girls at the bakery (actually looks of pity as I recall, as in “poor thing, she’s a little bit wacky” :))
but I learned a great lesson.  It was one of the best birthdays ever because I had changed how I looked at it.  The job of celebrating me was first and foremost my job:))
Since then I have relished any and every occasion to celebrate:))

There is no need to wait for an occasion to celebrate your life.

There is no need to wait for an occasion to celebrate

 wonderful you:)))!

In Other News:
Guess who leaves this Friday for France?  Not Eddie and not Pierre.
Guess who has everything packed?  Not me.
Do I have any volunteers for cat sitting? Not on your life.  Bad news travels fast.
Do I care? Probably should, but not really.  It’s all in the hands of one capable mouse.
Viva le mouse!!

I HOPE this is the blog for the drawing. I was looking elsewhere on the blog. Yippee!!! I love the French postcards and congrats to all the winners. Thanks so much Dreama for all the fun we have had on your trip. Life is a joyous journey and very colorful.ReplyCancel

Reading this post and nearly tasting how yummy that cupcake would be in real life if the colours and deliciousness in the feel of the paitning itself is anything to go by, I simultaneously smiled…grinned, in fact, and also had a bit of a lump in my throat and got more than a bit emotional (in a good way, I promise).

Wonderful words of inner wisdom, celebrating our life and all that is in it, and celebrating our own selves, be it with a cake with our name on it or the literally life-affirming, ‘Happy Birthday to Me’, or just doing something for yourself that truly makes you happy inside. To follow your bliss.

More fantastic photos of an equally fabulous time that was obviously had by all there at the latest workshop. Just look at those smiles and joyous faces, beaming with delight. What a joy your workshops must be – one day, I hope to be able to sign myself up for one – perhaps on my own birthday, as a birthday prezzie to me.

Have a fantabulous time in France, Dreama. Such a beautiful, gorgeous country and I miss it. Have a brilliant, brilliant time, eat lots of chocolate, visit lots of patisseries and boulangeries, drink lots of wine and coffee, soak up some glorious French sunshine and melt while listening to those gorgeous French accents and while taking in all the gorgeousness that is France and the French countryside. And of course Paris! J’taime Francais.

Ahhh…you know you’ll miss your two Eddies, even with Phyllis minding them. I’d have offered to look after them – I mean that sincerely, but there’s unfortunately a couple of thousand miles plus an ocean that prevents me from doing what I would love to do – spend time with your two Eds (I can just imagine how my three – especially Phillo, the atomic kitten! – would get on with either Eddie. Such hilarious, non-stop entertainment it’d be.

Thanks for sharing this painting with us, Dreama, but also, for the thoughts that accompany it.ReplyCancel

Oh Miss Susie:)) It’s NOT my birthday, but that has never kept me from celebrating;)) Is is your “acting” sister of LA that’s in France? I intend to soak up all the fun that I possibly can:)))) I miss you–hope San Diego is appreciating all the wonderful artist and gal that you are:)ReplyCancel

Well I think we should celebrate one’s birthday every single day!
And yes, Chrissy from LA is in France for 3 months – she’s “woofing” it too. No, not the opposite of “Eddying” it, but a very interesting concept that may just intrigue you Dreama. One lives on a farm, cultivates and works it, then gets free room and board.
Miss you too and you are doing amazing Dreama-girl!ReplyCancel

Happy birthday Dreama and happy trails!
My sister is in France and so enraptured with the place – you will too.
    Enjoy it to the fullest!ReplyCancel
