Post Card Skies

Confessions.
I have slept on the couch every night since arrival, with the patio doors open wide,
(the better to hear the ocean’s sweet music)
The sky has been more than kind
dropping a couple of stars on the first night
An extravagant starry postcard last eve, framed in my doorway
And this evening
A tiny sliver of moon hanging out with a gorgeous evening star.
What a show is put on for us each and every day
All we have to do
is
Look Up:))

Dreama: I can’t believe how well you mix it up with transparent washes and gorgeous impasto colour on top. You are a master!ReplyCancel

I noticed this same sliver of moon and the beautiful evening star last night while finishing up a walk with my husband-it looked just as lovely through the pine trees as it does above the palms.
    Very nice painting today, too!ReplyCancel

As much as I love looking at and admiring/being inspired by paintings of landscapes, cityscapes, mountainscapes, and seascapes, when it comes to me actually creating a painting, I’m more drawn to still life compositions. This one is beautiful, as are all your still life works, Dreama. Even though I cannot be there at the workshop (big sigh and pout, but delighted for the people who are there with you), I am going to be attempting my interpretation of this beautiful painting you’ve shared with us today. I love everything about this painting, especially the way it makes me feel…calm, serene, relaxed, contented…sort of similar to the way you sound over there on Marco Island.

I’m looking forward to seeing everyone’s beautiful expressions of creativity.ReplyCancel
