Color Happening Here and a Really Fun Giveaway!

"Dreaming of a White Catmas" Artist Dreama Tolle Perry

“Dreaming of a White Catmas”
Available in Dreama’s Print Gallery

It’s that time of year.

Packages arriving at the house.
Hiding packages and then forgetting where I hid them when it comes time to wrap.
Looking back at the year passed …..and anticipating the new year coming
It’s THAT time when best laid plans fall by the way
schedules are ridiculously off track
and one must remind oneself that
it’s all good 🙂

I’ve been playing and trying out some new things like….

I ordered some aprons with my paintings on them.
I put some words on them.
Color is Joy and Color Me Happy.

I wanted to show them to you.

Ed and the Apron2 Dreama Tolle perryV3Someone else had other ideas.

I ordered a stretched canvas print of Oh Happy Day as a gift for a friend that I wanted you to see.

Oh Happy Day Canvas Print Dreama Tolle Perry V3

Eddie, lacking thumbs,  gave it his highest approval rating–one tail up.
He even offered to pose to give  a sense of scale for the 16 x 32 in canvas print.

Oh Happy Day sunflower canvas print by Artist Dreama Tolle Perry/ Eddie the Cat Model

Holidays and all, I guess he is trying to be on his best behavior because after after all, he believes in Santa Claws.

Artful Aprons from Artist Dreama Tolle Perry

And I’m totally supporting him in that belief.
Any story that has Ed behaving is well worth propping up.

Anyways…I know you are busy so I’ll cut to the chase.
Get your name in the hat below.

Artful Aprons from Artist Dreama Tolle Perry

Color is Joy Art Apron by Artist Dreama Tolle Perry
P.S.  These aprons will be available for purchase next month.  They are perfect for cooking, gardening or painting—sooo color rich that whatever you get on them with your own creative endeavors will just add to it 🙂

Moving back to the UK after 24 years of being an expat and travelling the globe has given me so much to be thankful for. My family are now within easy reach and a telephine call doesn’t cost the earth. I feel being home is the right decision even though at the time of finally making that decision I didn’t want to leave Australia (our last port of call)
My home, family and now finally my creative artistic journey can continue. I would like 2015 to be a year of colour and Dreama you certainly know colour. Your creations are a feast for the eyes. Thank you for the opportunity to win this beautiful giveaway 😉ReplyCancel

Addendum and update: A new beginning that has created a wonderful new memory for 2014. A beautiful kitten has come into my life over this past weekend, on the 19th, at a craft market that I am a part of.

This little angel was, I believe, truly sent to me from heaven…from my beloved Little B, who passed away this past February. The hole in my heart and in my life has healed a little bit more since this Friday. The start of 2014 has been an extremely difficult and heartbreaking year, but it is ending on a note of hope, of renewed joy, and loving memories will forever live on in this year, as new loving memories are being created at year’s end.ReplyCancel

My best memory was spending a weekend painting in my dad’s home town, and having all kinds of people come find me because they knew my grandparents. It has been 48 years since my grandfather died and 28 since my grandmother did, but they impacted people in that town so strongly that people sought me out to tell me about it! I felt so honored! It was a precious, precious experience.ReplyCancel

Dreama, these are beautiful! Who wouldn’t want one of these aprons?!!!! Good idea. I like the color me happy ones! Color is fun—-a couple years ago I had my dental operatory painted purple—then got purple napkins, purple tray covers—purple cups—–so this week when they (after a million years) asked me to pick out the color of my new dental automatic chair—I said ‘Purple’!!!!! Of course, we are in a pinch –need the chair quickly, and can’t request our color:( But hey at least most of it is my fave color! Color is beautiful!ReplyCancel

My fav memory for 2014 was spending time with my mother (92). She is very chatty and very opinionated…..and lives in another state. Although she is “losing it”, she is a hoot. I don’t mind sitting at the kitchen table, sitting in the living room, watching TV, sitting in her garage, sitting on the edge of her bed…talking… did I mention sitting? She loves listening to the birds when she’s not talking. She has named certain ones who come to her feeders, and she talks to them. I think this will be a fond memory forever.ReplyCancel

He is now walking with a walker and is beginning to move his left arm a little… His speech is still not good but it is better and what was 3-4 words is now multiple sentences… some of which is Italian..which drives me crazy.. but I am on the edge anyway.. I think my best memory this year has been coloring, drawing and painting with my two granddaughters, ages 5 and 9. They love learning the things I have interest in. We have our “girl” bonding whenever we get together. The 9 year old is also learning how to sew. Our first project together, we are making her a purse and she has been right there with me every step of the way! What I like most about this memory is that it is one that will continue for awhile! I am so blessed.
    PS I love the apron!

I really love these aprons and given that ‘colour me happy’ is my wee tag line for my own paintings it would be serendipitous if I were to win that particular apron!! I couldn’t get the pin entry to work so I pinned a different painting of yours (catwalk) and added that link instead – funny enough I pinned it to my board called ‘art that colours me happy’ (do you see a theme here?!) My favourite memory of 2014 was winning first place in a national painting competition where as well as £750 of painting supplies I won a painting holiday with contemporary colourist Ashley Hanson in Cornwall which has set me on the very happy more impressionistic and vibrantly colourful painting path I now find myself on. Merry Christmas and a very colourful New Year to you. xReplyCancel

The aprons are a wonderful idea, and Eddie is the purr-fect model for them, as well as the stunning and beautiful ‘Oh Happy Day’.

But of course Ed’s being good – all cats everywhere are being good at this time of year. 🙂

My favourite memory of 2014 has to the very first Sunday in May at the Strandhill Market. I’ve long dreamed of being a part of a market like this one, and it’s almost as if my dream manifested into reality. A mini shop (made out of our tent and canopy and tables and displays), with the beach as our backdrop, and the roar of the waves, the smiles from all the people there.

What has been your favourite memory of this year, Dreama? France? The workshops? California? Your year has been so jam-packed with amazing memories, no doubt. 🙂ReplyCancel

  • Carole Jurack - December 13, 2014 - 1:40 pm

I have 2 best memories for 2014: I had the privilege of visiting with a nesting loon pain on Moose Pond each and every morning, following their daily routine (watching them build their nest, seeing them take turns sitting on the eggs, turning the eggs to keep the temperature even, swimming and diving for fish. Unfortunately we left before the babies were born but I did get to visit with the parents when I returned in the fall! The second best memory is that we spent several days at a wild horse sanctuary in South Dakota where I was able to take many photographs of the horses in the wild, even getting to mingle with them, talk with them and enjoy their company. It was a great year!!! Happy Holidays everyone!ReplyCancel

Best Memory of 2014: The synchronicity of Dreama’s posts and my best friend’s breast cancer healing journey. When a Dreama Essay seemed appropriate for her situation, I’d forwarded it on to her. She’d call me (she doesn’t live nearby) and we’d discuss the essay. She mentioned many times how much it has meant to her. Her treatments have consumed 2014. But she ends the year with a clean bill of health, conclusion of all medications/surgeries/frequent MD appointments – and she will enter 2015 healed both physically and mentally and spiritually. Just 2 weeks until 2015. Best Memory: How important friendship and sharing and caring is. You never know when something you say or do touches the soul of a person. Best Memory: Knowing (but never having met) Dreama has been an important part of this year. How I wish I had printed out some of the salient essays to add to the pages of her book that she published last year. They are priceless. Thank you Dreama. Reading you has been a gift in itself this year.ReplyCancel

As a virtual recluse, my best memories of 2014 are of the times I have spent chatting to my friends worldwide on FB; of reading interesting books all year, and learning from them; of hearing that my daughter (a leftie) did not need an operation, after breaking her left hand a few days ago in a freak accident! And the best memories throughout the year are of Dreama’s beautiful paintings and her sensitive, glorious writing that so uplift and inspire me! Thank you so much.ReplyCancel

My best memory of 2014 has been downsizing. Leaving a larger home and discarding years of accumulated treasures was a humbling experience. But alas, how completely liberating! We realized we were slaves to our “stuff” and have simplified our lives having more TIME to ENJOY the things we love. For me, painting was at the top of the list! Oh JOY! Signed up for two of your workshops!ReplyCancel

My fav memories of 2014; In May my daughter graduated from college after many years of not knowing what she wanted to do. Then, my God-daughter got married in June, so excited! And she treated me like a queen seating my husband and I with her parents (my best friend). I felt very loved and honored.ReplyCancel

Favorite memory of 2014 or a reflection:
