Golden Hour in Tuscany

“Golden Hour in Tuscany”
12 x 12in oil on museum quality panel
SOLD

The hour when the sun is slipping below the horizon
and the moon is heading upwards to hang out with the stars

is a magical time.
There is still enough light to see beautiful colors and yet the lanterns began to glow in the soft,  fading light.

It doesn’t last long— one must revel in those golden moments!

Music, like art, has a way of lifting the spirit.  I am always so thrilled when I find songs that help me redirect my thoughts for the moment
(which in turn redirects them for the day 😉

One of my favortie songs is “Let the rRver Run” by Carly Simon

Thank you for all you do. Your colors never disappoint, with their clarity, brillance and the way you compose is just like a short symphony.ReplyCancel

Thank *you* for turning me onto a few tracks I’d never heard before, as well. Also, for reminding me just how beautiful James Taylor’s ‘Shower The People’ is – isn’t it an amazing and magical thing the way music can do that to us all? ‘Unwritten’ is also a song I remember loving the first time I’d heard it, so thanks for reminding me what a great one that is, too. 🙂ReplyCancel

I feel the golden warmth of the sun while taking in the beauty of this painting, Dreama.

And when the last of the sun can be seen during the day and Mr. Moonlight is just about to greet us in the evening, it’s the perfect time to put on some favourite tunes and pump up the volume and just dance, dance, dance.

My current favourites (though these change from week to week, if not daily) are:

Into the Sun – Weekend Players (in keeping with the Tuscan sun them, and just makes me stop whatever I’m doing and start boogie-ing all over the house)

Dancing in the Moonlight – Toploader (in keeping with the moon theme)

Sneakin’ Sally Through the Alley – Robert Palmer (I’ve rediscovered the brilliant music of this great musician, and have to have a daily fix, at the very least)

Take My Heart (You Can Have It) – Robert Palmer

The Only Thing That Looks Good on Me – Bryan Adams

    Bump – Fun Lovin’ Criminals

    Discotheque – U2

Every Day is a Winding Road – Sheryl Crow

Blame it On The Boogie – The Jacksons

    Into the Groove – Madonna

I Don’t Feel Like Dancing – Scissor Sisters (this title always makes me smile, because, despite the title, it ALWAYS makes me feel like dancing 🙂

ps – Thanks for sharing that brilliant India Arie track. I love it! 🙂ReplyCancel
