Lighthearted—It’s Getaway Time!

“Lighthearted”

I am installed in Florida for the month.
It’s a tough gig.
My hair has been taking on  a life of its own with the humidity and I’ve been here long enough that the laundry and dishes are starting to pile up….
My first workshop ended on Friday so
some of us have been working while on the island.

For others who are supposedly at a “work” shop working though — there seem to be some suspiciously big smiles on their faces… 😉

This workshop  was an  island breeze to teach 🙂
Focused AND talented —Jane, Dawn, Ghada, Marlie, Popo, Keelin, Dodi, John, Rocio, Kaye, Suzanne, Sandy, Perry, Nancy, Patricia, Mary, Nancy, and Clare were simply a dream group of artists!

I wanted you to feel like part of the getaway too so here’s your boat to set sail on

and the perfect song/video to let your mind carry you away on a blustery winter’s day…..

Speaking of video, I loved having  talented videographer/photographer Justin Platt  along for the week capturing some of the moments!  Here are a few of his shots from the workshop…

The second of my workshops here start Monday.  More fun, more color, more sunshine to follow 🙂 !

What a great way to start the year off, and what a great place to start it off in! Yes, I can certainly see and understand why there are all those happy faces. Warm weather, beautiful location, and the fun of one of your workshops – definitely will lighten the heart and brighten the spirit. Which reminds me – the ‘Lighthearted’ painting is definitely doing just that, especially on this very cold, very blustery and very grey Irish January day. Thanks for lighting up and brightening up my morning, Dreama. 🙂ReplyCancel

I too am joining that VIDEO chant… :). I was in your workshop in Marco last year and lamenting that I can’t be with you again.

Videos would help us remember all those great techniques when we get home and the craziness of life gets in the way. We get back to our easel a month later and say to ourselves…”Now what was it that was mixed with the Caribbean Blue to get that great color????”ReplyCancel

I’ve been painting for 30 years…and I want to paint like you do! I love that you don’t paint every detail. I don’t know what details to paint and what ones to suggest. I am in Upstate NY. Please make a video for those of us who cannot make your workshops!ReplyCancel
