If it was worth saying before, it’s probably worth saying again….

Making way for what you want more of in your life.

How do we clear a space in our lives for the thing(s) we desire?

Life seems to crowd out our dreams.
Desires get drowned in the shallow waters of day to day “stuff”.

We often don’t even realize just how far we have drifted from taking action on our deepest desires until we read or hear about someone else celebrating a dream realized—-and at that point it can be a very jarring wake up call to our sleeping self!

I am a believer that our physical space relays some important, life-changing messages.

Notice this: People whose passion happens to be cooking HAVE kitchens. An ENTIRE room is dedicated to holding the dream.

Those who love gardening command every balcony, window and piece of yard in their domain to do just that.

My friend Ron, an amazing pianist and vocal coach, has a baby grand piano that dominates his living room.

Children who’s main passion of make-believe and pretending have entire bedrooms and play areas filled with things to support and encourage this kind of behavior.

Those who love to work on cars or do woodworking have usually taken over the family garage.

The Big Message that is sent by all these physical spaces is this:

Dear (Insert Your Name Here),

I believe in your dreams and in your passions. I know you have exactly what it takes to do the work that you were sent to do.

Just to prove it I’ve made room for you. Here’s a space to do your stuff in. It has been cleared and made ready to do your worthy and important work.

With a Huge Amount of Love,
Your Higher Self

A literal space serves us well.  It reminds us to literally take time, take up the space in our schedule to do the work we feel certain we were born to do.

Guess what? I took my own advice on this just this month 😉

I’ve added a small writing desk to my studio space. Somehow, although I am passionate about both painting AND writing—-I had created a great place to paint but neglected making “space” for writing in my life.

STUDIO-2

I also created a sweet little quiet spot for meditation right behind my easel.

STUDIO-1-

My studio is small but it holds a BIG SPACE in my head and heart for the things that connect me to my essential self.

If you were waiting for a sign to make room in your life for your gifts
consider this IT.

Make way for your soul’s work.

P.S.  Every step this direction counts.  I originally started painting on my kitchen table with a small plastic rolling cart beside it to hold my art stuff.  I had to clear the table each meal time, but my rolling cart held my space for me while I was eating 😉 .  It said all kinds of things to me. Stuff like…”you really ARE an artist!”,  “you are worthy to have a designated space to do what you do”,  “I’m your reminder to keep showing up to use your gift”.
Who knew plastic carts could talk??  😉

The BIG project immersion continues, and I’m teaching three workshops over the next few weeks, too, so I thought it was a good time to rerun some of the most read posts on this blog.
Keep sending those good thoughts and love my way—they are helping me so much to infuse my best on what I am working on!!!

        Hugs!

If being able to purchase a Joyful apron from Australia means that I have to enrol in an overseas workshop with you Dreama, then bring it on. So disappointed not to be able to purchase from afar but faith is a positive thing…….ReplyCancel
