"Portrait of Mr. Lincoln" SOLD

It was important that I keep my promise. I had told Mr. Lincoln (seriously, that’s his name, roses are named, in case you didn’t know), that if he would hang in there I would do his portrait come Saturday. Well, wouldn’t you know it, He was even bigger and showier when I went into my studio today. So we ditched the vase from yesterday and found a more sedate and less competitive container to cool his feet in. Now he and I are both happy—

He has been immortalized for generations to come and I no longer feel guilty. I decided to include the photos of him before coming indoors to model.

I would like to thank “Last Cup of Coffee” for introducing me to your blog! Your work is indeed beautiful, colorful, and a joy to look at. Her comment on her blog: “Today we enjoyed the blog of Dreama Tolle Perry. Her paintings are wonderful and filled with beautiful lush color. I give her paintings ‘5 creams’ and ‘5 sugars’. A perfect score!” inspired me to have a look. I will be checking in often!ReplyCancel

Yes, we are good friends with Mr. Lincoln (the rose) as well. A lovely portrait, and the teacup makes for a nice change from a vase. Love your brushwork (and my mate — the rosarian– just looked over my my shoulder and said, ohhh, that’s wonderful…)ReplyCancel
