"To All the Cats Ed’s Loved Before" SOLD

“To All the Cats Ed’s Loved Before”
8 x 8in oil on museum quality panel
SOLD

Eddie has been singing all day.  I probably should just stop there and let you ponder on that for a bit.

But then you need the lyrics to get the full effect.

“To all the Cats I’ve loved before”

Guess what comes  with a cat who has had several lives??  A lot of past cats to sing about.
Then there’s the problem of   Eddie’s voice…..

He ain’t no Julio  Iglesias

Anyhoo, he was so full of himself,  belting out his tune, I figured I might as well capture him at his romantic best (?)

Eddie has offered to send a tape of himself singing to the purchaser of this painting.
I have declined the offer for you to save the experience of that awkward moment…..

Please Note:  This is No. 10 in the “Catalicious Series”.

Miss Perry I have seen a very small protrait ( unframed , oil on canvas ) that you did of a friend’s little dog , it was sensitive , lovely and really caught Belle’s expression.i understand that you did the picture from a photograph. I would like to know if you would be willing to do a small portraits of our ” grand puppy ” she is a Maltipoo and is too adorable for words , I would like to give this to our daughter an her husband for Christmas.ReplyCancel

Thanks Jane. Eddie is a happy cat–he just feigns the “you have always disappointed me” look…
And June–bless your heart! That’s the down side of having these furry people. We tend to outlive them and that is hard!! I agree with Michelle–Mollie was obviously in a very loved home:))
And Steph–be careful –cats have a way of showing up and adopting humans:)))
Furry hugs to all from me ‘n’ Eddie the RomancerReplyCancel

Thank you so very much, Michelle, for your thoughtful, loving and kind words. I was worried after I posted my comment about Mollie that it might’ve been an inappropriate comment for such a happy, fun, bright and life-affirmingly joyful blog as Dreama’s beautiful blog always is. Thanks for putting my mind at ease, and thanks again for being so warm-hearted. The ever-present loving spirit of my Mollie girl thanks you, too.

I agree – this is a most beautiful portrait of the wonderful, world-famous and abundantly adorable Eddie.ReplyCancel

This is such a beautiful portrait of Eddie.

I smiled when I read the title and Eddie’s lyrics to the song, but then also cried when I thought about the lyrics in another way: today is the three year anniversary of our beloved cat Mollie’s death. She died peacefully in my arms after a massive stroke.

She was with us for nearly 13 years, and she was definitely one of those cats I’d dedicate Eddie’s lyrics to – ‘to all the cats I’ve loved before…’ and always will…Mollie girl being one of them. But then, I will always love all the cats who’ve ever shared my life with me.

Sorry for the somber tone of this comment, Dreama. It truly is a beautiful painting, and it shows how beautiful and handsome Eddie is. Cats are such beautiful spirits, aren’t they? All animals are, of course. But cats, to me, are just magic. Thanks for sharing this, and forgive me once again if I’ve depressed anyone for having written this.ReplyCancel
