V is for Venice:)!
Watercolor Postcard from Italy!
As you can see, I have been using the H2O Twinkler watercolors on the postcards I have done in Italy. They show more shimmer, depending on how the light hits ’em!
Detail 🙂
So much Venice! One could paint a lifetime and not capture all that is here.
So ancient, so ethereal, so timeless.
I am so thrilled that you have hung out with me these past two weeks—-and gosh have they flown by!
Tomorrow we say “Arrivederci” to Italy …. at least for the time being 🙂
Never fear , your virtual trip is not over yet….I have more pics for you to paint, a video (or two) and a giveaway up my proverbial sleeve 😉

Fair Venice early in the morning is breathtaking….
But then, what’s not to love about midday along the Grand Canal :-)??
Lots of red in Venice….maybe that’s where we got the color name Venetian Red??
And here’s the gondola parking lot. You knew there had to be one, right ;-)?
And so here’s your places to pick from to paint in your journals today (or make a postcard or two….have you sent any of yours to anyone? I am mailing several out today 🙂 )
(Please note: The photos I share here of our time in Italy are to be used as reference for doing watercolors for personal journals or postcards only. I please ask that they are used soley for that purpose:-)
Enter below to get your name in the hat for a chance to win the petite leather cosmetic bag from Venice, Italy that I selected with you in mind….it’s handmade in Italy, of course!
If you have a friend who needs some JOY in their life, share this post and encourage them to have some fun playing in the water (colors) and traveling along to Italy—everybody needs a Roman holiday once in awhile!

There’s more to come!!
I loved Venice it was so beautiful and I will go back some day,I was there on a painting trip with some friends from Pine Island Florida last year.
So glad you are home. Eddie looks miffed. Tell him there is always France 2014!
The sunrise was especially beautiful and to think that masterpiece in the sky is always changing. We are the lucky ones. God bless you in your travels and sharing.
Glad you are home in Paris and safe. Rest up and drink lots of water!
Best way to deal with anger is not to react with anger. L O V E heals all wounds…and if you happen to have gotten angry too, cry if you can and cool off…The Moon plays a big part in peoples emotions, I’ve noticed that this past couple of days (YUKKIE!!)and had to deal with my youngest anger at me.

Those H2O Twinkling watercolors are the cat’s meow!! Are they endorsed by Eddie? 😉
Lovely, doesn’t sound very va va voom, but it certainly describes the delightful peaceable spots of Italy you have selected to share with us. I imagine enjoying my morning coffee – not on my (rather warm) balcony in Texas, but some magnificent quiet corner in Italy watching the world pass by, complete with Italian (I cannot understand a word) but it sure sounds good!!! Great way to wake up every morning 🙂
I love the splash of orange background in your lovely postcard! I can only dream of a day or two in Venice, so thanks for the video snippet!
These photos are so inspiring! I might try my hand at some of these. Thank you!
You are magic. Everything takes my breath away. Beautiful.

I am not a painter, but that doesn’t keep me from appreciating your art!

Love all your videos and paintings!! Dreaming of going to Venice with Dreama one day!
I love the flowers spilling over the balconies. Looks like you’re having much better weather than I did when I was there (it was storming/raining – boohoo)But gives me a reason to go back.
Thanks so much for the “trip” Dreama! It was all so delightful. Safe trip home. The Eddies will be happy to see you!! 🙂
So fun to see Venice through your posts!
I’ve painted what I think is that very same arched window with the balcony full of flowers! My pic was from the opposite side, but how exciting to see it again. Ciao!
What beautiful pictures Dreama and I love this postcard… colors are popping and very happy….
Spectacular colors.
Hi Dreama,
I love your Italy posts, but I am on a diet and can not eat 20 pounds of pasta, not at one siting anyway. You ask that we only use your photos for watercolors or post cards. I do neither, but what about using your photos for small acrylic paintings for my own use and not for sale?
Yours,
Don Fowler

Looks marvelous!!
So excited to see your photos of Venice. I am going in a few weeks and can’t wait!!!!
Can’t stand it…I am so jealous. Every one of those photographs is waiting to be painted but of course, I honor your wishes that they be used only in the way you intended. My favorite of the photos are the ones that include flowers and colorful buildings. I will be in your upcoming workshop in North Carolina!
I have enjoyed all of your postings from Italy. Such beautiful photos. Brings back wonderful memories.
Nice!
Thank you so much for sharing your trip with me. I have never been to Italy but now I feel a little more familiar with it. Truly beautiful.
I’ve never been a fan of red, but the Venetian Red is growing on me!

I love the orange walls ! Hmm…… I wonder if my neighbors would mind .
My white walls are looking pretty drab .
Isn’t Burano just the cutest. I have some very similar photos which I took last year… I still have yet to paint them… this has given me inspiration to actually go ahead and do it. Enjoy the rest of your trip. Ciao
Venice is amazing. Loved looking at it thru your eyes. The light and visual splendor are enchanting.
It will be fun to paint from my photos from 2007. And do some fun personal paintings from the photos you are so generous to share.
Have a safe journey home.
Hugs
Judy

Dear Dreama,
Mille grazie for stirring up my “memory bank” of cherished time spent in Italia. If you need some extra lire for any “overweight charges” by the airline, I’ll be more than happy to bail you out. Ciao!

Re-sending this, as I don’t think it got through. 🙁
Such beautiful photos which will become your beautiful memories of beautiful Venezia to keep you going until you return there once again.
I’m also loving those H20 sparkly, shiny, twinkly paints! Not to mention that Very Venetian bag 🙂
You’re right, Dreama, and I agree – you could spend a lifetime there and still have so much to take in, to enjoy, to be enchanted by, to photograph and to paint. Not to mention all the gelato to enjoy! Venice truly is a very special and magical place, and I’ve enjoyed every single moment of your Italian holiday – thanks for sharing it with us.
