Before the Creative Process
“Coffee Cat/ Macchiato Mouse”
Coffee, tea, or get me out of the house.
Eddie is all jacked up on caffeine. I don’t know which of you sent him the Starbuck’s card for Christmas but I’m pretty certain he did not share it with anyone. He has been sucking down double shots of espresso macchiatos like there’s no tomorrow.
All bad behavior is now answered with, “The caffeine made me do it.” “It was the caffeine talking.” “What did you expect, I’m on my third cup of espresso.”
The up side? He is now only sleeping 14 hours a day.
The down side? He’s AWAKE and talking every one’s legs off the other 10.
Poor Phyllis doesn’t have much leg to spare so this could be a problem.
P.S. I’m off to Marco Island, Florida to teach a couple of workshops. I’m hoping the card runs out and the caffeine withdrawals are over by the time I get back;))
P.S.S. A spot has opened up in the Jan 16-18, Marco Island, FL workshop–it could be meant for you:)—if you’d like to join me click here for details.

This painting is one of ‘those’ kinds of paintings that instantly makes me smile and giggle. I can actually imagine the conversation Eddie and Phyllis are having, regarding Eddie’s -ahem- bad behaviour. Something along the lines of Phyllis telling Eddie, ‘Look, I KNOW you did it. I SAW you do it! But, nevertheless, seeing as we’re friends and all, and I’ve a few favors to call in, I won’t snitch on ya. THIS time!’
I love the way this painting and the images you conjure in my mind about Eddie and his caffeine fixes have taken my mind off my wisdom tooth having just been extracted (ouch!).
Have a brilliant time in Marco Island, Dreama – and all those lucky folks who will be there with you. Thanks for sharing this with us (and the smiles it brought). Have a lovely weekend and a safe journey to Florida.
Thanks June—Eddie an Phyll do love to entertain and send you wishes for a speedy recovery—they said you can’t keep a good woman, mouse or cat down;))
Love this painting and wish I could join you at Marco Island. But school starts back Monday, and I don’t think it would impress my teachers if I took three days off the first week. Hope I can come next year when you are so close by.
Me too Jerry—I would love to see you again:)) Gotta get that degree though—you go girl!!
Beautiful and charming, as always.
Thanks Maggie:)
