Life Among the Ruins…

Ha!  I figured that would get your attention.
In case you thought Rome had gone to the dogs…

and was just old ruins and cafe’s serving gelato 😉
I can (after hanging out around the colosseum today) report to you a couple of things.


First,  Rome was definitely NOT built in a day
AND


There are many ways to make a living….
1) You can don a gold lamé suit (I know you have one) and pose as King Tut.

2) You can be a gladiator (didn’t know those jobs were still around)

3) Or you can levitate….

Seriously, I was fascinated with the levitation.
And not sure how any of these guys would explain to a girlfriend what they do for a living 😉
Comes under that “Awkward Moment” category in life I’m thinkin’.
I have two little jewels for you to watercolor into your journals and postcards today:)  One is the restaurant we had sparkling water at that overlooked the ruins and did a little journaling (I used the water you were drinking for my sparkling H2O’s.  If you’re teeth are sparkling a bit more than usual it’s probably just the mica in the watercolors….)

And the other is the beauty that is Rome!  A city to fall in love for sure!

(Please note:  The photos I share here of our time in Italy are to be used as reference for  doing watercolors for personal journals or postcards only.  I please ask that they are used soley for that purpose:-)
I only wish two things.
One that we had more time here in Rome.
And two that I hadn’t found something else besides gelato to fall in love with.

The butter is good enough to eat with a spoon.  If  California cows are happy cows, then Italian cows must be ecstatic.
Jus’ sayin’.
Get you a good night’s sleep for tomorrow we are headed to the land of “Under the Tuscan Sun” romance.
Anything could happen.
And for those of you who are writing in hopes that  I will post a good looking Italian guy as one of my giveaways…..stop it already!! There’s no way I can fit him into my luggage 😛
