During the Creative Process
Watercolor Days and Ink Swept Nights
Watercolor days and ink swept nights.
Painting— its color, line, and rhythm—gives a glimpse into the emotional content of scenes like this.
It speaks to
…what it’s like when I step out onto my back porch at the cottage.
how the view—blossoms, terra cotta, fringed umbrella, seating for two, dappled light, and billowy porch curtains
light me up in ways that seemed impossible to express…
Yet, a painting can speak of unspeakable things.
As can music.
As can the well-turned phrase.
Today I’m letting the painting do the talking.
And maybe a few words from an author I love:
‘I’m not very good at making specific plans. Just meet me under the sky somewhere and be alive with me.’
~ Victoria Erickson
Wishing you a beautiful day and a week filled with unspeakably delicious blessings.
