One Fine Day
What’s been capturing your thoughts and filling your spring days? I’d love to know!
Me?
I’ve been busy with Flowmobile Diaries, Charvin colors, connecting with Dreamettes in real time, visiting a ‘new to me’ southern city, spending delicious spring days under giant maples with brush in hand, and celebrating it all with occasional Aperol spritzes!
Ron and I just completed our first trip (of what we hope will be many)Ā in the Flowmobile. The little red vehicle in tow is Ruby! I was able to share our adventures with Flow members using an app called Journi, which captures it all with maps, photos, videos and of course, witty commentary from me š
It’s so cool because then it can all be put into a book, so fun!
Next trip is already in the works…
We met several ‘Dreamettes’ in person during our travels which was simply THE BEST! Artists are such beautiful people, inside and out.
We drove through the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains on our way to our destination, Charleston, South Carolina. What a gorgeous, history-filled part of the US! We just scratched the surface in our short time there and vowed to go back ā¤ļø.
RosĆ© and wood-fired pizza by the campfire, painting with the peacocks at the Magnolia plantation, Ā and laughter shared with new found friends made for a soul satisfying experience! Can’t wait to do it again!
And now let’s talk about the climbing rose at my studio cottageā¦oh my! I painted her yesterday. She is quite the model! A brief video captured the moment.
Note: Rosie the Doodle and some fun Charvin colors in attendance for this gala event.
Finally, the Aperol Spritz š.
It’s good to celebrate life and aĀ fine spring day IS an occasion.
What is my recipe for the delectable drink I first tasted in Italy you might ask?
3 parts Prosecco
2 parts Aperol
1 part 7-up ( I was out of club soda and like this better!)
1 orange slice
(I sip slowly while pretending I’m in Italy. But that’s just me. Where would you imagine yourself?)
Spring days are magic. As many springs as I’ve been privileged to live IĀ continue to be amazed, speechless, and brought to tears by the sheer beauty that nature delivers so effortlessly.
And to think…you and I are part of this ā¤ļø
That’s some kind of big magic dear friend!

Thanks for the recipe. After drinking lots of Aperol Spritzs in Portugal in December I purchased Aperol and didn’t know where to go from there. I think it will taste great on hot summer days. Also, Charleston is one of our favorite places to visit. As Southern as it gets!!
Lovely!
Your painting is beautiful and the colors of spring refreshing!
Arenāt they? Thanks so much Judyā¤ļø
YOU always inspire me, along with Elizabeth Gilbertās Big Magic which helped me get that critic off my shoulder. I am so thankful that you introduced me to travel sketching in watercolor. We met on Marco Island many years ago. You also visited our Naples gallery. Thank you for your huge part in my art life!ā¤ļøš¤
I remember Mary! So good to hear from you šā¤ļø
