Lazy Days in France
Filled with grace and beauty, every day in France is full of new wonders.
Andre, who lives next to our cottage, invited us over to see his roses and garden today.
We have permission to paint there as well:))
What can you say about a French gentleman who has coaxed his roses to climb all the way
to the top of a tree and bloom?
Magnifique!!
Hope you’re hungry….we have five kinds of quiche to choose from for lunch:))
And the perfect spot to eat it and do your watercolor sketch afterwards while nibbling on some chocolate;))
Today seems like the perfect time
to paint the bit of whimsy that we passed on the way to Saint Cirq.
Bicycles filled with flowers and watercolor journals make a perfect match!
(Please note: The photos I share here, of our time in France, are to be used as reference for doing watercolors for your personal journals or postcards only. I please ask that they are used soley for that purpose:-)
A visit to Saint Cirq means lots of walking (best get your sturdy sandals on:-)
If video doesn’t appear, just click here:))
And now it’s time for some winners:-)
….winners of my first three original watercolor postcards painted here in France are:
Valee Sewell Penn
Jobi
Kathy Cousart
So happy for you gals who won and for those of you who were so gracious to leave a comment, there are more postcards to come so you may yet end up winning one:)))! (Random.org is used to select the names of winners)
P.S. If you missed the watercolor tips I posted the other day, just click here to download them.
P.S.S. I will be giving away the watercolor postcards I do while here in France:)) Love making them, love sharing them!
To get your name in on the drawing, just leave a comment on my site:))
P.S.S.S. If you think you’d like to come paint with me, you can check out my workshops by clicking here:))
Heaven is a place in France…
Love your work and would love to take a class from you! It would be wonderful to go to France with you.

France is a looking like a fairyland to me! See you in Oct.

Just found you a few days ago and loving everything I see. Your videos give us a glimpse of what’s around the next bend or even better the back yards and gardens, just wonderful. I would love to be a part of your class in France, but!! will have to settle on one in the good old USA. You are now on my bucket list of workshops I want to take. Thank You for the information and wonderful art.
Dreama, it is so hot and humid in IN/KY. What a delight to see you in a jacket. At least one of us isn’t limp as a rag. Ah, France. Gayle
I have love all the beautiful photos and insights into your trip. What a wonderful place to be and paint. You have a way of making one feel like they are there with you. Thank you.
The comment I tried to post yesterday went awry, but you read my mind & posted pictures of the food! Thank you for sharing your trip with us. What a charming place to paint & eat! I hope to join you in 2015!
I am really enjoying your posts. It is so nice to sit down with a cup of tea and open the video and daydream for a while. Thanks so much!
Beautiful. Absolutely beautiful. Every day is beauty-filled. You’re right and I agree – France is definitely artists’ catnip. There are so many photos and scenes I want to paint from this one post alone. All of them, if truth be told 🙂 As still lifes are my favourite to paint, I think I’ll start with that beautiful table setting – the fruits, the quiche(s), the lovely bouquet of flowers in that vase…not to mention the tablecloth and the tiled wall as a beautiful, rustic backdrop.
Thank you so much for these video diaries, Dreama. They’ve truly brightened up my mornings these past few days – even on the greyest and wettest days here, they offer up lots of happiness and sunlight.
Enjoy your day today!
How do you ever decide what to paint? There are too many beautiful things to pick from. Thank you for sharing and letting us come along with you.
