Wanna Go for a Ride???
From Venice to Paris in a day.
Sounds romantic, I know.
Except for…ahem, that my Paris is in Kentucky AND then there’s that little matter of 16 hours of traveling (and there you sit, all rested and in the same time zone;)!
Three plane changes, 2 security checks, (cameras, laptops, kindles: OUT! Scarfs, belts, shoes: OFF!)
Scraps of dignity?…Left behind at the freakin’ full body scanner 😉
I thought everyone would be excited that I was back.
Obviously, I missed the gondola on that one…
Do you have any tips on overcoming extreme guilt? Or dealing with those who are having, how can I say this delicately, anger issues?
It’s been a looong 3 days since I returned….
HOWEVER….Italy was fabulous with you my friend. I felt we needed to have a grand celebratory ending to our fun under the Tuscan sun (and elsewhere) in Italia.
To that end….ONE GRAND FINALE GIVEAWAY, one more video, and more pics of beautiful Italy!!
Put on your glad rags and get ready to be serenaded. Your “carriage” awaits 🙂 !!
And while you’re all dressed up may as well look for a place to grab a bite to eat 🙂
Looks like the perfect spot!
Fresh mozzarella with yummy tomatoes, olive oil and balsamic vinegar.
And a little local vine and water dedicated to Italian opera 🙂
Well, if you’re going to paint a still life, everyone knows you need an odd number of desserts items….
In Italy each little thing has the ability to become a work of art.
Door knockers are included in that.
Some welcoming and some
good for those days when you just want to be left to yourself 😉
Uncommon beauty in common things….
perhaps that is what we love most about Italy!
(Please note: The photos I share here of our time in Italy are to be used as reference for doing watercolors for personal journals or postcards only. I please ask that they are used soley for that purpose:-)
A huge hug for taking this trip with me. I have felt you there with me in spirit, looking over my shoulder and whispering in my ear to make sure we didn’t miss a thing 😉
A wonderful gift to me from the most giving and talented artist/instructor. I can’t wait for my gifts to arrive! I’m still in shock
I do so love your watercolors — as well as your acrylics and oils … and thank you for the trip to Italy. I was there this spring and my weather was a bit chillier than you’ve had — but oh the delights! Thank you for sharing the trip — the glorious images, and your work! Please consider doing a watercolor workshop!!!

Thank you for sharing lovely pieces from your amazing trip to Venice. I especially loved the virtual gondola ride – something I have always wanted to do. The scenes in the back canals were stunning. I would love to sit at the amazing table for two at the window, also. Your photos are definitely inspiring me to sketch and paint. The beauty that can be found in the everyday things around us provide some of the most inspiration.

Have really enjoyed your trips both to France and Italy. When and where are you going next ;>)
I so enjoy all your emails, thanks for taking the time to share some of your views and joys on your travels.
Just home from France and have jet lag too! Up at 3 a.m. and reading your fun blog. Love all the beautiful pictures. Well done!
It takes me at least 2 weeks to feel normal after coming back from France & Italy. I force myself to stay awake when I’m staggering around the house at 5 pm. It will come, but slowly! Bottom line – it’s all worth it. Thanks for sharing your wonderful photos and moments with us.
I love your blog, trips, spirit and art, Dreama!
Welcome home. Thanks for the wonderful trip. I so appreciate all your photos, videos and comments.
Rest in the Beauty that surrounds you and savor the moment. There is beauty everywhere around you, just take a moment to drink it in.
Loved our trip together….where to next?

This is so beautiful. Thank you very much for sharing your trip with us.
Thank you so much, for these wonderful adventures, without having to endure jet lags and security checks…Thanks for getting chances to win beautiful goodies! Andrée
No one captures the beauty of a trip to Italy or France like you Dreama. Inspiring and beautiful!!
Hey Kids–can’t tell you how much I have enjoyed having each of you along for this trip. It honestly does sharpen my eyes and softens my heart to do my best to single out things that I think will bring some beauty to your day, some wonder to the moment and some giggles along the way 🙂
And James (creator of my favorite easel, THE coulter plein air system;) you do need to make it happen–you would bring your special painting touch to what you see in Italy. And Durinda–you are going to have so much fun! Go out early and go further in on Venice to have less people and more of the amazing timelessness of Venice. If you can work Burano in, do it!
And Jobi–has the wedding happened yet???
And to Marcia and Marianne–thanks so much!
Happy Saturday to everyone and Big Hugs!!!!
Dreama

So fun to see Italy through your eyes! You see beauty in everything. I am really psyched for my trip this coming week. I had better hurry up and sign up for a workshop so we can paint Italy together! I was thinking about getting a Venetian mask for my cat but may have to consider the straw hat!
Ciao Bella!
Thank you Dreama for a wonderful trip. A visual feast. I loved the videos too. It really was inspiring and such a diversion from the hot desert here in the AZ summer. I need to get back to the Mediterranean again someday.
