Bellissimo Burano and Pussy Galore!
“Postcards from Burano!”
Detail 🙂
Burano is an island just a wee bit away from Venice.
It is known for its lacemaking AND colorful buildings 🙂
Not having an Eddie sighting since arriving in Venice, I ASSUMED it was safe to venture out.
So I’m out, shutterbugging around Burano (did I mention it was COLORFUL??)
When I noticed this cat….acting very suspicious.
And more cats.
Doing catty things.
One in particular was stalking me.
I finally worked up the nerve to confront her.
Either someone was filming a remake of 007’s “Pussy Galore” or Eddie was in town. I told her I KNEW she knew more than she was letting on.
So I continued to take in the sights, bought a “Handmade in Burano” scarf for today’s giveaway and tried to keep a wary eye out for you know who.
Sure enough….
FINALLY spotted him as I was getting on the boat to head back to Venice. He wouldn’t turn around when I called his name but I’d know those ears anywhere!
Now for your viewing pleasure, a cat free look at Burano 🙂
Bonus Video today 🙂 Saturday Morning in Venice–click here!
And something to paint yourself (in color) in Burano 😉
Maybe a rooftop retreat…
Or a canal side seat 😉
(Please note: The photos I share here of our time in Italy are to be used as reference for doing watercolors for personal journals or postcards only. I please ask that they are used soley for that purpose:-)

Sure looks loverly!
You went to Burano!!! Isn’t it absolutely beautiful!? I loved that little motor boat ride from Venice to Burano (and Murano, too).
And yes! The colours of all the buildings were amazing. Reminds me so much of the west of Ireland that way.
And yes! yes! All those cats!! Everywhere! Pussy galore is absolutely the best way to describe Burano (and Murano, too).
I just did not want to leave Venice. We were only there for about 4 days, but it was enough time for me to have beautifules memories to last a lifetime.
And yes! I would love to have that beautiful handmade scarf from Burano. Or anything at all from beautiful, beloved and bellisimo Venezia (or Burano). One of my favourite places in the world.
These video diaries you’ve done throughout this particular holiday destination brought a joyful tear and big smiles and grins to my face and my heart, Dreama. How I yearn to go back there – where my ancestors are originally from. Thank you so much for all you’ve shared with us. It’s been the next best thing to being there.

I’m thankful for your many tours that allow me to “armchair travel”! Italy is amazing. Your postcard is so fresh and light, just beautiful!
I have such wonderful memories of Burano. The colorful houses, the quiet side streets, an Italian mother yelling at me because I took a picture of her child, and a meal of several courses followed by limoncello and catching the last boat back to Venezia with an Irish family
The palette of the scarf picture is gorgeous in and of itself…
Looks like you missed the warm sunshine of Tuscany while in Venice, but we didn’t use it all up, so it’s waiting for your return! Today is the last day of my 2 week workshop- will be thinking of you on the LONG ride home

Dreama, you seem to seek out and discover the most colorful parts of the world. But there seems to be a problem with that black and white stalker cat who appears everywhere you go. Oh, well. We will just accept him and go along with the act.
