Watercolor Journaling in France…Video and Pics!
A Page from My Watercolor Journal/ Autoire, France
***
While you were eating ice cream….
Some of us were playing working 😉 !
My videographer/photographer/friend —Justin Platt— traveled with me and we did a quick video between rains just for you.
Here’s the latest entry in my journal, complete with the sights and sounds of France.
And here’s a couple of photos to keep you busy in your own journal 🙂
(Please note: The photos I share here, of our time in France, are to be used as reference for doing watercolors for journals or postcards only. I please ask that they are used solely for that purpose 🙂
If you have a friend who needs some JOY in their life, share this post and encourage them to have some fun playing in the water (colors) and traveling along to France—everybody needs a holiday in France once in awhile 🙂 !
Your journal entry was such fun to watch. So cool to see how you work the edge on a large brush. Your new home is going to be something to look forward to, with each new entry!! 🙂
Dreama, the pictures are fabulous and you not posting for a while just tells us you must be having a wonderful time…. have fun and share when you can. I love looking at not only your paintings but your wonderful photos!! Thank you for sharing your trip with us.
Dear Dreama: I love your website and follow all the time. Can you tell me what size sketch book you are using in the video painting the fountain. It looks like 6×6 or 8×8. I want to buy one and like the size you are using. Thank you. Ann Gorgone
Your video was very enjoyable and educational. Thank you for giving this to us, Dreama. I am Appreciative, Dale
Must go so I can take the inspiration and apply it now.
I loved the bells and kitty talk in the background.
lovely….
You make it look to easy Dreama.. Thank’s for sharing.. It took me back to France..
I have to agree with all the artists and their comments and echo their sentiments – I feel like I’m right there with you, enjoying every beautiful moment of (y)our holiday in France. Thank you so much for sharing all this with us. The video diary is wonderful – especially as it’s an extended one. I learn so much from your blog posts, but am inspired additionally when you share with us your tips and your joy for painting (and joy for everything else) on your video blogs.
I tried to do the first photo, but it was ‘fighting’ me (or perhaps it was fighting with the perfectionist in me) a little bit, so I took a step back, came back about an hour later and went for the second photo. Challenging and anxious as I was about sketching or painting steps or stairs, it came out better than I’d hoped, so I’m pleased. Thank you for these photos, Dreama, and thanks, as always, for inspiring me and sharing the joie d’vivre with me and all of us.
Dreama,
I really enjoyed your video on the fountain. Thank you so much for the inspiration. It looks like a wonderful place to paint and sketch. Love that you used your twinks just for fun, adding sparkle to your lovely watercolor.
Thanks for the video and inspiration!
What a delight almost like being there… Simple and beautiful ! Enjoyed it ! Thank you ! Nice work !
Hi Dreana, what fun watching you watercolor the water fountain in the rain. W hile eating icecream that was a real treat no pun intended I love the explaination on how to work with watercolor. A tough mediyn to work with. I have a better feel on how to make the colors stay in place. Such a beautiful courtyard to paint in. The video only let me watch a sentence at a time stopping after each. That was harder to follow . Thank yiu so much for the wonderful time in France this morning. HUGS & ♥, Me
Wonderful post. Enjoyed it…..Thanks
Lovely! Great Video……looking forward to seeing you in Florida! Hugs to Edie when you get home…..that devil.
Dreama — You are so kind and generous and so inspiring! I have a painting of yours of a Venice Canal Doorway that I just love! And I also love my Dreama Calendar with all your paintings! And after watching you do the watercolor sketch of the fountain in Antoire, France — I thought — perhaps (maybe — please!) you could put together a calendar for sale of all your watercolor sketches!!! It would be wonderful and so beautiful — and I know I would purchase it! It would be great! Thanks for all your inspiration. I am too old to go with you to France or Italy on your wonderful trips — but I so love your blog.
I am going to try your journaling sketch while I am at the beach today. Then some beach umbrellas.
I do believe that water fountain is the finest watercolour I’ve seen you do! Perfect and understated – you’re SUCH a talented lady. Thanks for sharing the video – keep having fun!! x
