How Big the Moon
How big the moon
How tender the heart
How sweet the love
Purple haze stealing the scene, bit by bit, like covers pulled slowly from the grasp of day
Silvery light laying fingers across a once green field now colorless to the eye
The stars of the heavens sharing stage with the Queen of the night
How big the moon
How tender the heart
How real the love
Birds are hushed, gathered into arms of waiting trees
The fireflies shimmery, lilting dance…as timeless as time itself
The strawberry moon so full…of herself.
How tender the heart
How real the love
How big the moon
Summer nights of full moons and fireflies and star-filled heavens melt me in my tracks.
Every single time.
