Wanderlust

“Cartolina #7”

Bicycles abound in Italy—I decided I needed to get some exercise in—thank goodness for spandex 😉

“Cartolina #7”
Farmacia in Certaldo
Can you spot me in the crowd??
No??  Well, maybe you just need to look a little harder–could be your eyes are getting weak from gelatoitis….jus’ sayin’;))
As you know, antiquities
And trattorias
Abound  in Italy–so much to paint!
Thank goodness my missing paintbrush finally turned up…
Walk softly and carry a big brush…you never know what you’ll come upon that needs painting:)!
It has been a bit warm, so I figured you needed to cool down with one of the local drinks….
and some tiramisu…
Well, it’s not my fault.  I tried to share with you, but doggone it, you just eat too slow!!

I am curious.  Have you ever run into the BSS guy??

He’s everywhere.  He poses  somewhere right in sight of the camera shot you are wanting, usually doesn’t move and is ALWAYS wearing a Bold Striped Shirt.

Jus’ wonderin’.

I mean, there is a real art to wearing a shirt that can actually make you look at it instead of the world famous Ponte Vecchio in Florence;))

Well, I am toying with the idea of drawing for the 3 remaining cartolinas from the response on this very blog post.  I mean, with Eddie running amuck here in Italy,  I am left to do it myself.  So it may be one grand finale post with 3 names announced.  I haven’t decided for sure yet.  Sorry to be ambivalent, but I am not thinking too clearly these days, what with all the gelato, coffee, pastas and Eddies in my life.

So stay tuned and make sure to leave a comment on this blog post (click here) or email me (click here) to get your name in the hat:)))

And oh yeah—the winner for Cartolina #7 is…

Ruth Ann Sturgill!!

Yippee Ruth Ann!!!  Send your address to me so I can pop it in the mail:))

  30. not that you asked for a vote… but i think you should go ahead, draw 3 names, and kind of forget about us for a few days. you’ve worked hard and been extremely generous. turn off the computer, dreama! we’ll miss you, but we’ll be here when you get back. enjoy italy and thanks again.

I have so enjoyed taking a trip to Italy again through your eyes! Is the paint brush going to be one of your carry-ons??

  36. Sea Dean

I suppose the link doesn’t work so you can see who’s really serious about getting a post card. Well I found a way around it. After all that huffing and puffing to find another way I need that drink. Don’t be surprised if I empty it.

  37. Thanks for all you’ve done, your photos, paintings, writing, and Cartolinas have been such a joy!

  38. Hi Dreama! Looks like you’re really enjoying your trip. The dessert looks yummy! I hope i win a postcard! Cathy Hart

  43. You should have worn your BIG STRIPED SHIRT for the bikers’ picture!

    ~Pam in Pensacola, FL

  44. You’re gonna have to paint a really BIG CAT with that paintbrush!

  45. June

I think I can see you in that photo, yes…but surely you’re cycling for enjoyment and pleasure, and not for any need whatsoever for excerise (I don’t know how you do it, but even with all those pizzas and gelatos and of course, the tiramusu and gorgeous wine and other libations – you don’t look like there’s any need to go to the Fattatoria!).

I’ve loved all your cartolinas – each and every one of them – in France as well as here now in Italy – is so beautiful. But I think I love this one a bit more than the rest of them, as I am instantly ‘drawn’ (sorry…pun irresistible) to scenes with shops or cafes, like this one. I love the colours in this one especially. Hopefully Eddie will draw my name out of the cap this time ’round).

I’ve been loving these day trips all around this part of Italy with you, Dreama. Thanks so much for taking us along, and enjoy your remaining days there.

  46. Definitely a wonderful trip and I’m enjoying it with you… Thanks Dreama….

Does it ever rain there or is it beautiful sunshine everyday?

  49. Feel sure that Eddie is sabotaging my posts or else I would have won a card by now. (He knows I connected you with Pierre). Very soon I will get Pierre in on the clawings and drawings and I will then have an “in”.
