"Party On!"

A cupcake here, a cookie there, polka dots and roses everywhere:))
Sometimes it’s a good thing to throw a party for yourself.

A petite one.
Maybe invite a cat….or two.
A “pretend” tea-party like when you were little
With your prettiest cup,
a real napkin
decadently rich coffee
and some very, very dark chocolate:)
Prepared especially well for one very delightful soul.

You:)

“Party On!”

I love tea (and chocolate) parties – pretend or otherwise!
And this is defintely my kind of still life composition! I love it. I love the pretty-ness of it, but also, the fun and joy it brings, just imagining ‘the real thing’. And I really like the angle you painted this from – you looking down at it, rather than at eye level. I love how you/we can look right down into the cup of tea (gorgeous colour – just the right amount of steeping and the perfect amount of milk – just how I like it!)
So…what time shall I come over, then? Thanks for inviting us all to your tea party, Dreama. This has put a near-permanent smile on my face this morning.

One of my favorite artists these days. Such happy places.

I could never be trusted to paint sweets, I’d eat them before the end of the painting – the color here just bounces off the canvas -so joyous!

  4. I love the polka dots and the icing on those cupcakes…yum. I bet they were delicious.
