You’ve always been better than you know.
More beautiful than you can see.
It’s a thing, you know. This inability to see ourselves for who and what we are.
To have the true vision of how we are showing up in this thing called life.
Those around us often know us better than we do ourselves.
They see our compassion, passions, beauty, and grace.
Unfortunately, we probably won’t see this ourselves until a few years or even decades from now.
How do I know this?
Well, let me ask you a question.
How often have you looked at things you were involved with in years past to realize that you were really good at what you did?
You remember and are actually able to give yourself credit for doing something that was challenging. But you also remember at the time, all you could see was what didn’t work. The places where you felt you fell short or weren’t ‘enough,’ etc. etc.
Past photos often bring to life and remind us that we were beautiful, handsome, and incredible in a thousand different ways. When, in fact, at that moment, we were feeling awkward, inept for the task, fat in our clothes, and unloveable. We look now and see kindness in that face and love in those hands. In short, we now see what the folks around us saw: a beautiful soul.
So fast forward to the present moment.
This is you now.
Amazing, beautiful, filled with grace, creative, and lovable.
I invite you to go ahead and see it now instead of waiting a few years for it to dawn on you. To realize how truly wonderful you are now in November of 2022.
Your art is more remarkable than you know.
What you write is more profound than you know.
How you make family and friends feel when they are with you is more lovely than you can imagine.
The you that is present and living right now is so much better than you know.
Forget not that the earth delights to feel your bare feet and the winds long to play with your hair.
~ Kahlil Gibran
In awe and wonder of you!
